Stupid is as Stupid Does

Today I am thankful for lists.

I've decided to make this a running list of stupid stuff I've seen online this hour.

1.) A dating coach I know who claims that men should send the exact same message to women that they're interested in on Facebook.  Women owe men an immediate response.

I know this guy.  I tried to set him straight but he doesn't listen....so, I'll repost the advice here in case someone Googles it rather than pay $97 for bad online advice.

Um....no.  Facebook is used for more than dating.  Not everyone you meet on that website is available.  Besides that, women don't owe you conversation, time or attention.

Worse, if you send the exact same message to two women who know each other, you're gonna come off as an extra desperate dude by chumming the water like that.

If these guys are after superficial relationships, these guys need to sign up for Tinder.

Besides if a woman is worth your time, she has a life.  She has friends and a job. She's most likely not going to answer you right away.  I guess these guys can learn this lesson the hard way by getting involved with clingy chicks.

If you act clingy that's what you are going to attract.

Men like this are the reason many women learn NOT to respond to online messages.

Ladies.....it is social convention that gets us into bad spots with manipulators.  Manipulators know that the women they can take advantage of are the nice ones who respond or feel they have to explain themselves.  A guy who finds you online doesn't know you.  You don't owe him the time of day.  The nasty guys will masquerade as nice guys and claim they are owed something......a response....a picture....a call.  A healthy guy will move on and maybe connect with you after you've developed some type of online friendship.

This guy has been unfollowed.  I don't want to see him embarrass himself like that.

2.) A note claiming that in Donald Trump's America, brown people don't belong in white neighborhoods in Colorado.

Sure buddy...... half the city and street names in Colorado are Spanish.  The first settlers came here to escape slavery in the east.

There are indigenous people here who are.....brown.

Brown people helped build this state - so stick a fuzzy sock in it!

Many of us DO discriminate against people who have moved here from out of state.

The person who wrote this hateful note must be a transplant because s(he) sure isn't from 'round here....s(he) doesn't know the history.

Besides that.....um.....don't tell anyone but.....um.......Mexico is part of the Americas.......shhhh.

On another note, my personal experience with stalking has taught me that people who pull this kind of nonsense know the targets.  It's always the person we least suspect.  This jerk must know the family.  It's probably some school kid upset about something (the grammar is pretty bad).

3.) Weird stuff happens at a convenience store in Aurora, Colorado because it is built on a Native American graveyard.

Um.....no.   I live so close to that store my home would also have been built on the same Indian burial ground.  Besides my ex-husband used to work with the owner at a freight company (and everyone that worked for that company was weird.....must be something in the water).

The only weird stuff we see in the neighborhood is caused by the living.

It could be that they're hearing my stereo.

Stories claim that things fall off the shelf and that the Slurpee machine is haunted.  Another, more bizarre and strange explanation may be that my djinn are real and they've developed a taste for Slurpees....(just teasing).

Hmmmm............ Yeah....if I had djinn, I wouldn't say anything.  I'd just let you wonder where my Rolls Royce came from.  But it's funny to laugh about it when grabbed and called Satan by the former in-laws.

This is why I don't post to Facebook anymore.  It was a one-hour, stupid time suck.

***************************************

I had to get off of the website.  I just read that Aurora killed another dog.  This owner claims she needed time to get money for genetic testing to prove it wasn't a pit bull.  A court date was schedule and when she arrived she learned that the shelter had killer her dog.  Now, when I spoke to the reps at the shelter, they claimed that they DON'T kill healthy dogs.  They send them to other shelters to be adopted.

I hate being lied to.

This is really getting old.

There's no such thing as a pit bull and citizens are starting to get irritated.  I spent another hour reading the old news stories from 2014 and a lot of the information posted about "pit bull breeds" was incorrect.  I've trace their source to a woman with a website.  Her name is Colleen Lynn and, for some reason, numerous governments are using her rantings as statistics. Rather than link her site and increase her rankings, I'll make you Google her name if you want to read her crap.

I've found a lot of people able to debunk her claims.

That's another post for another day.

I attend as many city council meetings as I can in case someone wants to talk about it.  So far, no one has been there to discuss this topic.

I wish the powers that be could understand that when we behave in unfair ways, we become monsters.  By killing animals in this fashion, the city is becoming monstrous.  Remember that people prefer to side with David rather than fund Goliath.

It would be wise to find a way to bring this back to the voters without citing non-credible statistics by someone who neglected to get adequate psychotherapy after a dog-bite trauma.  I don't blame this woman for being bitten.  I blame her for her reaction to it.

Governments who fall prey to this nonsense need to think hard about how it will impact their bottom line.  How much does this witch hunt cost them in the long run?

Look at me, the person pretending to be a witch, laughing about witch hunts.

Gotta go, the creepy neighbor is yelling at his dog.

Some people suck, they really do.

Love ya,

S.

Stalker Proxy Phone Calls

What kind of songs do narcissistic stalkers sing?  I imagine they sing songs like this.   I am grateful now that I understand why the stalker has people call  but   wish they'd listen when I ask them not to call again.  I probably should document this somewhere.  My ex was talking to an old friend of mine from high school on a daily basis.  She is his cousin.   I had to quit talking to her when she'd ask me to plan parties and then refuse to give me the guest list saying that the attendees would only be me, her, my stalker Shannon, and my NPD mother-in-law.   She wanted me to plan interventions.   This happened with a baby shower.  It also happened with a wedding.  The in-laws put together a fake wedding trying to host an intervention to shame me and my ex into doing things for them (like quit school and give them my car).   I had to cut this so-called friend off over that in 2004....

The Love Gods Have a Sense of Humor

Today I am thankful about the ever-changeable, ever-humorous universe.   It is said that 'in life, the only constant is change.' Ah, this is a true tidbit, isn't it? I recently vowed NOT to date until Michael officially moves out of the house.  I also vowed NOT to be close to him unless he signs up for FOO (Family of Origin) and Relationship counseling.  I've been with the man nearly a quarter of a century, he's not going to go to therapy to have a relationship with me. He plays games with money, divorce agreements, custody arrangements, transportation, and all sorts of things to keep me stuck here.  It's nothing money and a lawyer can't solve.  ***** They say that dysfunctional people have three weapons that they use to keep people under their thumb.  The acronym is FOG. Yes, they are FOG machines. What does FOG stand for? F ear O bligation -and- G uilt Yes, there is fear.  Fear that he won't honor hi...

Personality Theory

Today I am thankful for personality theory. I can't say that I buy into it very much.  People change over the course of their lives.  Healthy people grow.  Unhealthy people either stay static or regress.  So what one tests today may change tomorrow. I do believe that personality theories (even ancient ones like astrology) create self-fulfilling prophecies.  If people buy into it, it gives a lot of insight into their characters, needs, and behaviors.   I've spent most of my adult life studying personality theories.  From Eric Fromm's theory's about authoritian -vs- mature personalities and how authoritians fear power while mature people revel in it to Jung's introvert -vs- extrovert theory.  A major one of interest to me is an offshoot of Jung, it is the MBTI type inventory.  When I'm happy, I'm a textbook INFJ. When I'm pissed off and wanting to strangle my ex, I act like a ESTP.  My ex is a ESTP a...
